BRIEF HISTORY
The Tiger II, known in German as the Königstiger, was Germany’s heaviest operational tank of World War II. Combining extremely heavy armor with the powerful 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun, it was designed to engage enemy armor at long range. King Tiger #213 was built in October 1944, chassis serial 280273, and later took part in the Ardennes offensive. It is especially associated with the Werimont Farm area during the Battle of the Bulge, one of the most famous armored campaigns of the war.
